The Master of Arts degree in Addictive Disorders requires
a Bachelor of Arts degree in Addictive Disorders, or other closely related discipline
which includes the 45 units of required core courses, 45 units of Graduate level course
work, a 5,000+ word Thesis, and at least 40 hours of individual and/or group therapy:
- Bachelor of Arts degree in Addictive Disorders, or closely
related discipline, including those 45 units listed for the Addiction Specialist
certificate program;
- Forty-five units (450 hours) in Graduate level coursework
which may include some or all of the following:
- New Developments in Addictive Disorders
- Co-dependency or Nurturing
- Dual Diagnosis Evaluation and Treatment
- School and Youth Prevention Specialist
- Program Administration and Supervision
- Advanced Counseling Psychology
- Womens Issues and Special Populations
- Advanced Hypnotherapy Internship
- Body-Mind Techniques in Recovery
- Alternative Health Care Resources
- Nutrition and Exercise in Recovery Milieu
- Employee Assistance Programs
- 5,000+ word Thesis of original work;
- A minimum of 40 hours of individual and/or group therapy,
over a period of at least 4 months, within a years time before or after enrollment
in the Master of Arts degree program.
