MASTER OF ARTS - ADDICTIVE DISORDERS

   

  The Master of Arts degree in Addictive Disorders requires a Bachelor of Arts degree in Addictive Disorders, or other closely related discipline which includes the 45 units of required core courses, 45 units of Graduate level course work, a 5,000+ word Thesis, and at least 40 hours of individual and/or group therapy:
  • Bachelor of Arts degree in Addictive Disorders, or closely related discipline, including those 45 units listed for the Addiction Specialist certificate program;
  • Forty-five units (450 hours) in Graduate level coursework which may include some or all of the following:
  • New Developments in Addictive Disorders
  • Co-dependency or Nurturing
  • Dual Diagnosis Evaluation and Treatment
  • School and Youth Prevention Specialist
  • Program Administration and Supervision
  • Advanced Counseling Psychology
  • Women’s Issues and Special Populations
  • Advanced Hypnotherapy Internship
  • Body-Mind Techniques in Recovery
  • Alternative Health Care Resources
  • Nutrition and Exercise in Recovery Milieu
  • Employee Assistance Programs
  • 5,000+ word Thesis of original work;
  • A minimum of 40 hours of individual and/or group therapy, over a period of at least 4 months, within a year’s time before or after enrollment in the Master of Arts degree program.
