BACHELOR OF ARTS - ADDICTIVE DISORDERS

   

  The Bachelor of Arts degree in Addictive Disorders requires successful graduation from high school or a GED, 30 units of general subject study, 45 units of required Lower Division core courses, 15 elective units in a specialty, and 90 units of Upper Division courses:
  • The general education requirement explained within the Associate of Arts degree;
  • The required Lower Division core courses include those 45 units listed for the Addiction Specialist certificate program.;
  • Fifteen elective Specialty units identified within the Associate of Arts degree, or comparable studies, or an Associate of Arts degree from an approved or accredited institution;
  • Upper Division courses which will include some or all of the following:
    • Advanced Physiology
    • Dual Diagnosis
    • Co-Dependency
    • School and Youth Prevention
    • Program Administration and Supervision
    • Advanced Individual and Group Counseling Psychotherapy
    • Women’s Issues in Addiction
    • Men’s Issues in Addiction
    • Drinking Driver Program Operation
    • Special Problems for Cultural and Lifestyle Differences
    • Employee Assistance Program Development and Operations
    • Assertiveness Training and Anger Management
    • Special Problems in Sports and Performance Drug Addiction
  • 5,000+ word Thesis of original work.
